Amazing Anniversary!!

The Cavalier rolled out the red carpet for our 6th anniversary and treated us like royalty. Our room was upgraded to a Heritage Suite and all requests were honored. Our first stay at this property was during Pusha T's wedding back in July 2018. That experience didn't leave a great first impression due to the restrictions with so much security and being bumped out of the suite that we had reserved. This time they got it right and the beach club opened during our stay which was an added bonus. The Cavalier is beautiful and it has so much to offer. We enjoyed the spa, dinner at Becca, room service each day, and we actually used the hotel's beach cruisers to check out the town. Also, the indoor pool and hot tub are exceptional. I have stayed at a lot of Ritz Carlton and Four Season's properties but this hotel is by far my favorite in the Mid Atlantic region Thank you for making us feel special, Fibrezze, Robert, Garrett, Brad, and Callan!! See you soon :-

Like a Phoenix, Reborn!

The resurrected Cavalier Hotel oozes charm and elegance from the time you pull up to the entrance on a gigantic,hand-laid brick cul-de-sac. As soon as you tell the valet your name, every member of the staff does so for the remainder of your stay. The hotel's public common areas are reminiscent of the 1930's and '40s with what I'll call a little "spoof art" in the Raleigh Room. You can hear the big band music and crooners softly playing and singing in the background. The corridors to the guest rooms are lined with photos of the many celebrities who visited the hotel from that era right on up to the '90's when the hotel went dark. Each "room" is individually themed to the period. Ours was a large suite (unfortunately, with no view) featuring both a four-legged bath tub and a spacious walk-in shower. (My wife's only complaint was our bathroom needed two sinks.) General inside amenities include a lobby bar (with pianist and vocalist our first night there), a casual dining room (hunt Club) and an upscale dining room (Becca's), a spa, a large indoor pool and hot tub, a work out room, and finally, even a distillery! The grounds are beautifully landscaped with a fire pit and outside lounging and dining areas, some with views of the beach just across the street. We used our Marriott Bonvoy rewards points for our most enjoyable two-night stay and plan on returning again for another brief getaway

Really Nice

The hotel is certainly a rose amongst thorns for VA Beach. Everything is new and well-appointed. The staff is amazing- from the valet, to the desk, restaurants, and tour. The location is just far enough away from the normal VA Beach crowd to avoid that scene, but only steps from the northern boardwalk. I think there was just something missing for me that I can't put my finger in that kept this at 4 versus 5 stars at this price

Wow. Historic, classic, updated yet charming property.

Fantastic stay. In fact, so fantastic the houses being built on the property around it got added to the potential retirement options list for my wife and I. This hote is old, retains the charm of an old hotel, but has been refreshed and does not feel old in many ways (outisde of areas difficult to change, like the height. My room was modern and convenient. A perfect size for a business travel stay. The hallways have pictures and stories of famous visitors the hotel hosted, many of them Hollywood or music icons from the past. They are re-doing a few areas outdoors, and the beach club across the street is under construction. None of that is or was an issue. The sheer majesty and history and beauty of the grounds and the approach made this stay feel like I was special. The staff greatly contributed to that - I was warmly greeted and assisted for anything necessary. Well done management. Well done. I will return with my wife in tow (I sent her photos, she was not with me)
