Babymoon to remember

My wife and I had a wonderful babymoon at the Cavalier recently. We hope to come back again in the future. The hotel - what a beautifully renovated property! From the moment we drove up the driveway past some of the residences, we were constantly impressed. Check in was efficient and I got a small upgrade to a corner room suite as a Marriott plat elite member. The room was bright with lots of windows and the bathroom was huge and well appointed. Becca - Sitting outside on their patio enjoying the morning breeze was a great start to the day. Raleigh Room - this is basically a hotel bar, with free coffee in the morning, and drink service each night. I was impressed with the relatively low drink prices and the ability to take those drinks out to the loggia or beautiful grounds, which had plenty of seating spread around. Beach club - We spent two days enjoying the pool and service at our chairs, with some time at the beach as well. The service from every staff member was great (special shout out to Andrew for doing a great job serving everybody). The pool was never too crowded and was quite spacious. There were always at least a few chairs open, even on a weekend. Service at the beach club grill was also good. Prices for drinks and food were lower than I expected (beers starting around $6 and wine starting at $10, entrees starting around $15) which helped us decide to just stay at the beach club for dinner, where food was pretty good each meal. There were a few negatives I wanted to call out. 1. There is a lot of construction going on right next to the beach club where a new Marriott is being built. It wasn't an active site over the weekend but on Monday it was very loud with construction noise, which is just a few hundred feet from the chairs at the pool. 2. At the Raleigh Room, my wife had a club soda with lime. She was asked by a server if she wanted some more club soda and accepted. She ended up being charged $5 for club soda twice, which I thought was a bit excessive. The server should have made that more clear rather than offering a refill. 3. There was a weird gas-like odor on the elevators and in the lobby for part of the stay. It appeared that it was improved upon departure but it was not pleasant. 4. I wanted to get an item from the hotel gift shop but I never saw it open. I figured it would be open when we checked out but I was told it didn't open until 3. That was a bit disappointing. All in all, I can't wait to return in the future and I think this must be one of the best Marriott properties on the East Coast

Rough start, but they more than made up for it

My wife and I were originally going so booked a King room. A good friend of hers was coming into town to visit, so we invited her to stay with us and changed the room to a double Queen. The change was confirmed by the hotel, and the room type even changed in the app. When we checked in, they told us that they no longer had a queen room and put us back in a king room but offered a rollaway. We understandably were somewhat upset as we felt bad having her friend sleep in a rollaway, but it appears there were truly no kings available. After some fumbling by the front desk crew, they upgraded us to a nicer room with a nice view and gave a food and beverage credit. Although this made it better, she was still sleeping in a rollaway. While I took my son to an event that night, my wife and her friend went to dinner at Becca. The manager came up during dinner, and had upgraded us to a top floor suite. The remainder of the visit went very well. It was a rough start, but their service after the initial snafu more than made up for it We also spent time at the Cavalier Beach Club, their Oceanfront pool/bar/beach on the oceanfront portion of the property. The service, food and drinks were absolutely outstanding

AMAZING SERVICE

My girlfriend and I were extremely lost when we walked into the Cavalier Hotel, looking for the spa. An employee, Barbara Murphy, spotted us and saw that we were confused. She not only showed us where the spa was, but she took us on an entire tour of the hotel. She showed us where to eat lunch (Becca), showed us the Hunt Room and Distillery (we scheduled a tour and got cocktails after), and gave us so much helpful information along the way. We ended up scheduling an entire days worth of activities because of her, and enjoyed every second we were at the hotel. She was so kind and stopped whatever she was doing to make sure we had all the information we needed and had a great time at the hotel. I don't think we would've found or scheduled any of the things we did without her! She was awesome!

Best anniversary day ever

From start to finish, excellent service expeditiously carried out to perfection. Thank you Jenna Eddins for the tremendous help and effort you put into making a perfect evening for my wife and I. We booked a great room south a beautiful view and we were amazed. The dining reservations away Beccas seafood resturaunt was amazing. We spent time relaxing at the spa, getting our massage on. It took us to a whole other plane of relaxation but the fact we got a facial together after being in the sun all day, was the cherry on the top. We had champagne and flowers waiting for us on the room, and floated out the hotel after our stay. Thank you again Jenna for the help and thank you cavalier hotel for the memories!
