Grand Opening Tours

Experience the renaissance of Virginia's iconic hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean during our grand opening tours. This self-guided tour, accompanied by a commemorative tour guidebook, takes you back in time exploring the rich history of The Cavalier and its architecture, iconic guests and its road to restoration. Tours will begin with an orientation and 7-minute video. Docents will be assigned to key locations throughout the tour to enhance your experience.

Details:
Tour Dates: February 16th - March 1st
Tour Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Tours start on the hour with the last tour beginning at 4:00 PM)
Tours are open on a space available basis (max. 100 guests per tour)
Parking is available in the Cavalier Garage located next to the hotel

Suggested directions to The Cavalier:
(From the 64 and 264 Interchange):
  • Follow the I-264 E/ Norfolk Virginia Beach Expy/ Virginia Beach Expy to 21st Street in Virginia Beach
  • Continue on to 21st Street  for 0.5 miles
  • Turn left onto Pacific Avenue.
  • Head north on Pacific Avenue for 1.4 miles.
  • Continue onto Atlantic Avenue for 0.2 miles. 
  • Turn left onto Cavalier Drive

Are private tours available?
No, all tours provided are public and are on a first come, first serve basis.

Will there be food and drink available to purchase?
No, at this time Becca, The Raleigh Room and The Hunt Room are all closed as we continue working on the finishing touches before our Grand Opening. This is the perfect time to visit one of our other nearby Oceanfront restaurant offerings! Enjoy a burger and a beer at Lager Heads located in the Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront on 33rd and Atlantic,  fresh caught seafood at Catch 31 or delicious seafood and steaks from Salacia, Virginia's only AAA 4-Diamond Steakhouse.  Both restaurants are located on Atlantic Avenue between 30th and 31st street inside the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

If I am late to a tour time, do I have to wait until the next time slot?
Yes, to provide the highest quality tour experience to all guests, we ask that if you are late that you please wait until the next tour begins.
